Nargis Dutt Memorial Cancer Hospital Barshi (HBCR)

Introduction

The Hospital Based Cancer Registry (HBCR) of Nargis Dutt Memorial Cancer Hospital was started in 2006. The NDMCH is an exclusive cancer specialty hospital in Rural Maharashtra. Near about 3000 patients were attended at hospital from rural area of Maharashtra and also few patients from neighboring states like Andhra Pradesh & Karnataka.

Method

Each and every patient attended at NDMCH whether OPD or IPD department will scrutinized by trained officer and all Invasive Cases clinically, radiological, microscopically proved cases were included in Data base and fill up prescribed core Performa.

DATA VALIDATION

The cancer registry staff scrutinizes the documents for confirmed cancer cases attending NDMCH and collect relevant information as per Proforma designed by NCRP after sufficient time has elapsed so that the information on primary treatment is usually available. The abstracted data is then recorded in the computer and analyzed.

SUMMARY

During the year 2014, 6003 new patients were registered in the hospital out patient department for diagnosis & treatment. Among them 2736 (1237 Male, 1499 Female) patients were diagnosed as cancer.

Since NDMCH is a well-recognized cancer hospital, patients from all parts of Maharashtra & neighboring states like Karnataka & Andra Paredesh attend for expert care, opinion and treatment.
